We have trained, professional crews, who use top-of-the-line, dustless equipment to sand, scQrape, buff, seal, and stain hardwood floors. The sanding procedure usually takes anywhere from 2-4 days, depending on which procedure you decide to go with. There are several staining options:
Natural Process
This takes two days. First we sand the flooring, then apply a coat of sealer. We then follow this with two coats of polyurethane. The final product will have a light honey tint to it.
Traditional Stain
The traditional staining process takes three days. For this, a single coat of penetrating stain is placed on the wood. We then finish the staining process by applying two coats of polyurethane. With different stains available, this may range from a light yellow to a deep red or brown.
Pickling Process
This takes about four days to complete. For this, we sand and then bleach the wood. We then follow this with two coats of non-yellowing polyurethane. The final color will appear a whitish color.
Each approach is perfectly acceptable in the home. Ultimately, the decision comes down to the personal preference of the homeowner. We are able to provide you with a sample of each of these types of finishes. This can give you some insight into what the finished product looks like.
