INSTALLATION

Gold Star Floors specializes in all kinds of flooring. We handle everything from the installation to the sanding and finishing of these floors. Our team is also able to help you to stain and repair the hardwood floors in your home. For new installations, we primarily focus on hardwood flooring. We can handle solid strips, herringbone patterns, engineered and parquet floors. If you are on a budget, we’ll even install laminate flooring which offers the beautiful look of hardwood floors for a fraction of the price. We’re also known and respected for our custom design work. We are able to create exotic borders with the use of mahogany, cherry and walnut wood. If you prefer more character, we have the ability to install unique designs and patterns in your flooring. The possibilities are endless and only limited to your imagination.

SANDING

We have trained, professional crews, who use top-of-the-line, dustless equipment to sand, scQrape, buff, seal, and stain hardwood floors. The sanding procedure usually takes anywhere from 2-4 days, depending on which procedure you decide to go with. There are several staining options:

Natural Process

This takes two days. First we sand the flooring, then apply a coat of sealer. We then follow this with two coats of polyurethane. The final product will have a light honey tint to it.

Traditional Stain

The traditional staining process takes three days. For this, a single coat of penetrating stain is placed on the wood. We then finish the staining process by applying two coats of polyurethane. With different stains available, this may range from a light yellow to a deep red or brown.

Pickling Process

This takes about four days to complete. For this, we sand and then bleach the wood. We then follow this with two coats of non-yellowing polyurethane. The final color will appear a whitish color.

Each approach is perfectly acceptable in the home. Ultimately, the decision comes down to the personal preference of the homeowner. We are able to provide you with a sample of each of these types of finishes. This can give you some insight into what the finished product looks like.

FINISHING

Hardwood flooring which is finished tends to have a striking beauty to it. To give it the luster it needs, we use polyurethane. This is an oil based substance which is absorbed by the wood. This gives it a unique look you can take pride in. We have three main finishes you are able to choose from.

  • Satin: Low luster
  • Semi-gloss: Medium luster
  • High-gloss: High luster

Each of these styles depends largely on your budget and taste. When you contact us at Goldstar Floors, we’ll take the time to discuss your options. When we’re finished, you’ll have beautiful, professional looking flooring.

STAINING

You’ll have plenty of stain options for your flooring. At Goldstar Floors, we primarly use the Minwax and Duraseal stain charts for color selection. This allows us to give our customers a full range of colors to complement their home. We’ll even do a few samples for you to determine which color you want installed in your home. Once we’re done, your floors will look sharp and leave a lasting impression on everyone who sees them.
Keep in mind that in addition to these services, we are able to help you with your other flooring needs. Give us a call today and let us know what your needs are. We’ll gladly help you to bring out the beauty of all the flooring in your home.

Aren’t sure about your flooring needs? We can come in and consult with you. With the vast number of flooring types available, it is often difficult to determine what you need. Hardwood flooring which is too light in a large room can get lost. In turn, dark hardwood flooring in a small room can make it feel cramped and stuffy. With over a decade of experience in the industry, we can look over your rooms and help you to determine the perfect type of flooring to meet your needs.

At Goldstar Floors, we take flooring seriously. From the installation process to the care and repair, we have the tools, skills and experience to help take your flooring to the next level. Contact us today and let us help you to begin the process.
